A day at Windlesham House looks different from most schools, and that is entirely intentional. When your child arrives in the morning, they are not just walking into classrooms. They are stepping into a place where learning happens everywhere, where friendships matter, and where every single day brings something new to discover.
School life
What a typical day looks like
Our school day is structured but never rigid. Children move between focused academic lessons and specialist teaching in everything from art and drama to computing and forest school. We believe in mixing rigorous learning with genuine joy. Your child might be tackling a maths problem in the morning, then exploring our woodland areas in the afternoon, or learning a new language through cultural immersion. The balance matters because we know that children learn best when they are engaged, curious and having fun.
Beyond the classroom
Our 70 acres offer endless possibilities. We have a nine-hole golf course, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, forest school areas and a working market garden. These are not just extras. They are central to who we are. Children develop resilience, teamwork and confidence through these experiences. Whether they are building dens, caring for our 18 chickens or learning to swim, they are growing in ways that matter.
Extracurricular activities and enrichment
We offer a wide range of activities after school during the week and on Saturday mornings. Most happen on-site, though we also arrange trips to venues like horse riding centres. Every term, we publish detailed guides so you can see exactly what is available and help your child choose activities that excite them. This is where passions are discovered and talents are nurtured.
Boarding life
For our boarders, Windlesham House becomes home. Our boarding experience is carefully designed to be fun, supportive and developmental. Boarders have something to do, but we also build in time to relax, rest and simply enjoy being with friends. Our dedicated boarding team gets to know each child really well. We understand that boarding is a big step, which is why we focus on creating a caring environment built on strong relationships between your child, your family and us. Boarders mature quickly here, gaining independence and resilience that will serve them well in their futures.
Pastoral care and community
Whether your child is with us for the day or stays overnight, they are part of a warm, supportive community. Our staff know them as individuals. We celebrate their strengths, support them through challenges and help them develop into confident, kind and curious young people. We operate an open-door policy, so you are always welcome to chat with staff about how your child is getting on.
School life at Windlesham House is about creating space for children to thrive, to belong and to become the best version of themselves.
